|Summitview's principal activity is the acquisition of under-performing companies, with sales potential of $5 to $100 million, often in partnership with owner/managers. Summitview, under its founding principal, Martin E. Welch, strives for flexible, "win-win" situations benefiting all participants.
Martin E. Welch is a private equity investor with a 30 year career in financial management. Marty has been involved in many turnaround situations, having served in leadership roles at Chrysler Corp, Federal-Mogul Corp, Kmart Corp, and Oxford Automotive.
CFO Magazine has recognized Marty as a finalist in the 1998 CFO of the Year Issue in the category of "building high impact finance teams" for his work as CFO of Kmart.
Given Mr. Welch's hands-on, direct involvement, Summitview pursues a limited number of transactions at any given time, limited to those which it believes have a high probability of closing.
